How is my Wigwam App protected? Where is my seed phrase stored?

Wigwam Mobile App uses advanced MPC security technology and it doesn’t need a seed phrase.

What is MPC?

MPC stands for Multi-Party Computation in a crypto wallet.

It’s a technology designed to keep your private key (the secret code used to access your crypto) safe by splitting it into multiple pieces and storing them in different places.

In the case of Wigwam, one piece is securely stored on your device, while another is cryptographically protected and stored on our side, linked to your email.

Instead of one person or device holding the entire private key, these pieces are combined to securely sign transactions.

Why is MPC important?

  • No Single Point of Failure: Even if one piece is compromised, your wallet remains secure.

  • Enhanced Security: Your full private key is never exposed.

  • Convenience: Access your wallet from multiple devices without the fear of losing a single key.

How can I get my full private key?

You can retrieve your full private key during the Wigwam account deletion process. At one of the final steps, you’ll be prompted to save your private keys.

However, we strongly advise against deleting your account, as doing so will result in losing access to our loyalty and motivation programs.
