How to back up your Wigwam app account

Wigwam is a self-custodial wallet that uses advanced MPC security  (You don't need to have a seed phrase). When creating your wallet, you have three options to back up your account:

  1. Password – ⚠ Important: Your password is the key to accessing your account. Only you know it, and Wigwam does not store or recover lost passwords. If you forget or lose your password, you may lose access to your wallet permanently.
  2. Google Drive Backup
  3. Passkey Backup

We strongly recommend using all three backup methods to ensure you always have access to your wallet, even if you switch devices.

Adding a Backup after wallet creation

If you only saved a password during wallet creation, you can still add other backup methods at any time:

  • Go to the Settings page.
  • Select Backup Account.
  • Set up Google Drive Backup and Passkey Backup.

These additional backups provide extra security and allow you to recover access to your wallet if needed.
